Welcome to our blog!

Welcome to HEARTHnews, the blog of HEARTH, a non-profit agency located in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh, PA. We are dedicated to helping single moms and their children get back on their feet again — through adequate training, resources and safe housing — and lots of hard work by our participants.

We decided to start this blog for two main reasons:

First, to give you, our partners, supporters and community, the latest on what’s happening at HEARTH, Benedictine Place, and Benet Woods; and

Second, to offer you ideas on how to help — not just us (although, of course, we love it when that happens!) –  but also other single moms in need, and any non-profit close to your heart. How? We want to inspire you through ideas and tips for “giving back”  — and through the success stories of our women.
